Soundscapes of K-W \\ Past, Present & Future
Have you ever wondered what your city sounds like? We all know the buzz of traffic, the honks of horns, the chatter of people around us. But do we ever really immerse ourselves in those sounds? Local media artists/musicians Jordan Mandel (aka Spoke & Mirror ) and Stephen Trothen (aka Treephones ) remake the soundscape of KW, blurring its boundaries – organic and mechanical, inner and outer, the past and future. The duo will use pre-recorded noises collected from the downtown and uptown cores, combine them with historical multimedia and reform their overlap to craft and live experiment with musical tones.
Let your ears do some deep wandering.
